Our students have been creating for Christmas

This week saw the end of our very first Progress not Perfection mentorship course where we have guided our students through the Beginner's Masterclass over 12 weeks.  Not only have they been completing the lessons and practice sheets but with Christmas around the corner, they have been turning their attentions to gifts and other festive projects.  Although we can't share everything (we don't want to spoil the surprise), here are just a few of the fantastic ideas they have had for Christmas.
Christmas Greetings card handpainted with a mitten design
Suz has taken what she has learnt from our Liner Brush Doodles lesson, mixed it with the floating technique and created her own winter design for a Christmas card. The white/red/green combination looks great against the rustic card she has chosen.
Painted slate plaque
After our painting on to different surfaces lessons, Helen has developed a love for painting on to slate throughout the course and has created a wonderful festive decoration using our buds border design and mistletoe.

Upcycled glass jars decorated with hand painted Christmas trees You Can Folk It
Tina has created these beautiful Christmas jars using our tree design from the Comma Stroke doodles lesson - these are going to look lovely in so many homes this year.
Hand painted Christmas card featuring designs from You Can Folk It
Ann has not only had fun combining different elements from the lessons, it is wonderful to see her creating her own lace design too. Just look at those fine lines!
Hand painted glass bottles and jars
Since our Painting on Different surfaces lesson, Lynn has wanted to paint on to glass and she has done a great job! Although Christmas is a little warmer in Spain, she has certainly brought a cosy Christmas vibe in to her home with these projects.

Handpainted Christmas trees using techniques from the You Can Folk It Beginner's Masterclass
Angela learnt how to use the Deerfoot brush in our Wreath and Topiary lesson and used the techniques to create her own beautiful Christmas trees.
Christmas tree handpainted by students from You Can Folk It Beginner's Masterclass
Like many other crafters, Jan has paired our Christmas Tree design with a few mixed media techniques to create a beautiful project.
It just goes to show that our Masterclass is just the start of your painting journey.  Many of these students hadn't even opened their Masterclass three months ago and now they have learnt the techniques and grown enough in confidence to play with their own idea to create some wonderfully wintery projects this festive season.  If you would like to know more about our next 12 week Mentoring program, watch our webinar here.
Happy Painting!
