Great course. Carol's teaching is superb. I have tried folk art painting before but never made any progress. After watching the videos I now know how to hold the brush properly and make the brush strokes. If you are unsure I urge you to give it a go!!

What is Folk Art?
Folk Art has been around for hundreds of years, you might recongnise it from English Canal Boats Painting, Russian Dolls or French furniture painting. It is an art form that was traditionally known as the art of the untrained artist and as used to decorate everyday items. Nowadays we use it to paint anything from a greeting card to a wardrobe!.
Because it's a skill-based art, you’re repetitively learning simple techniques to create each brushstroke. Here is the first stroke you will learn - the 'comma stroke' al other strokes are based on the technique we use in this first stroke - PRESS - PULL - LIFT.
Designed to fit around your life
No matter what stage of life you're in, working, retired, looking after the family - life is busy and often stressful. So the course is designed to be followed over 12 weeks, working through one module each week. We recommend around 2–3 hours per week - BUT, we've made it so it's so it’s completely flexible. You can go at your own pace, and stop and start as needed.
Also beware - it's addictive, so most students find themseves wanting to paint everyday!
